How to build a successful mobile application?

Bootyard helps you build a successful mobile application by working together starting from idea generation, planning, design & development to deployment. Before you jump in to work with us, we want to provide you a better understanding on our process.

We think win-win thus, we outline the steps necessary to move forward.

How to launch my mobile app idea?

You have a great mobile app idea to be the next big thing but don't know where to start. Where to find a team to build your idea? Where to find Android or iOS developers? You then think about the project cost, timeline and more.

Starting out, it could be a mess when you don't have a clear picture on where and how to start.

Our role is to help you launch your product starting from stripping down your ideas to outline the project scope for your minimum viable product (MVP).

Step 1: Planning stage

A few questions you need to ask yourself first before jumping immediately on letting someone develop your mobile app idea:

  • Who will use my product?
  • What industry does my product fall? (i.e. game, productivity, ecommerce, travel, etc.)
  • How much is my budget? (Just so you have an idea on how serious you are on your mobile app)
  • What is my desired timeline?

Normally, your idea is vague from the start. And you ask yourself, "How to launch my product that is "On Time and On Budget"?. At the start, chances are you don't understand the features you want to implement but roughly, you have an idea on the functionalities you like. We often refer to it as user stories.

So for our planning stage, we will do it together. You formulate your lists on functionalities/features you like into User Stories and we will make a blueprint on the workflows involved.

Here's a sample format of a User Story

As a <"type of user">, I want <"some goal"> so that <"some reason">.

A few examples on how to formulate a User Story:

  • As an member, I want to browse travel packages so that I can pick the best but affordable travel package.
  • As an admin, I want to add set of questions so that members on my app will have to answer.
  • As a user, I want to invite members of the band so that we can collaborate on writing lyrics of our songs.

From these user stories, we will break it down to workflows that will be implemented. And the only thing you would need to do is approve whether that is correct or improve the workflow from the additional thoughts you have.

Step 2: Design, Mockups and Wireframes

This is an important step in project planning because this is where we cement our ideas together. You would understand the workflows better and the features that will be implemented. Take note: We take wireframes seriously and this is for your own sake.

Step 3 - Start Development

With wireframes ready, we start with development.

Step 4 - Deploy Project

We deploy it on Apple Store or Playstore depending on which you want to prioritize.
